# Get paid with Stripe

> Write the price once in your Offer, and your pricing page, Stripe Checkout and every renewal read it, with the money landing in your own Stripe account.

## 1 · Connect your Stripe account

On your Admin's Billing screen, press **Connect Stripe** and sign in to Stripe. The account stays yours: the money, the Customers and their Subscriptions.

Then send the Offer. Stripe learns it as a Product with a monthly [Price](https://startupbuilder.dev/business/nouns/price), so you create neither by hand. `limits` holds each Customer to 200 Units, and `personas` names who buys and uses it.

```mdx title="leaseclock.com/Offer/pro.mdx"
---
$type: Offer
$id: leaseclock.com/offers/pro
name: Leaseclock Pro
price: { amount: 29, currency: USD, unit: month }
limits: { Unit: 200 }
personas: Property manager, Leasing coordinator
status: Live
---
```

```bash title="Terminal"
curl -X POST https://api.sb/leaseclock.com/offers \
  -H "authorization: Bearer $SB_TOKEN" -F file=@Offer/pro.mdx
```

## 2 · Check the price

Open leaseclock.com/pricing. It reads "Leaseclock Pro, $29 a month", rendered from `amount`, `currency` and `unit`, so the page and the charge always agree.

## 3 · Buy it in Test

On the Billing screen, press **Buy in Test**. Your pricing page opens in Test; subscribe to Leaseclock Pro with Stripe's test card, `4242 4242 4242 4242`, any future date and any CVC. Stripe sends a signed event, and the platform checks the signature and settles the [Subscription](https://startupbuilder.dev/business/nouns/subscription) once, however many times Stripe delivers it. List it:

```bash title="Terminal"
curl https://api.sb/leaseclock.com~test/subscriptions \
  -H "authorization: Bearer $SB_TOKEN"
```

```json title="200 · application/json"
{
  "subscriptions": [
    {
      "$id": "https://api.sb/leaseclock.com~test/subscriptions/sub_1",
      "$type": "Subscription",
      "offer": "pro",
      "price": { "amount": 29, "currency": "USD", "unit": "month" },
      "status": "active"
    }
  ],
  "meta": { "total": 1 }
}
```

## 4 · Go live

Live sells the same Offer. A Property manager picks Leaseclock Pro, pays through Stripe Checkout and becomes your [Customer](https://startupbuilder.dev/business/nouns/customer). `unit: month` renews the Subscription every month, charged to the card on file.

### The billing portal

Your Customer changes their card or cancels in Stripe's billing portal, on their own.

## 5 · Get paid

The money lands in your own Stripe account, and Stripe pays it out to your bank.

To change the price, edit `amount` in the Offer and send `Offer/pro.mdx` again without `Prefer`. The next Checkout sells the new Price, and every Subscription keeps the Price it bought.
